How we develop guides
We draw on primary sources from fire agencies, forestry services, university extension programs, and established wildfire research organizations. Each guide includes its supporting links and a review date. Text and illustrations are editorial explanations; they are not a site-specific professional assessment.
What our content does not establish
Local rules, terrain, vegetation, property boundaries, and individual structures differ. General home ignition zone distances are not universal legal requirements. We do not certify compliance, assign a validated wildfire-risk score, give an insurance determination, or guarantee an outcome.
Independence and commercial relationships
The launch site has no paid contractor placements, sponsored recommendations, or affiliate links. If these are introduced, they will be labeled clearly where they appear. Payment must not be presented as proof of licensing, insurance, certification, or suitability.
Updates and corrections
Requirements and agency resources can change. Check the linked agency for the current position before work begins. We review content as sources or site features change; the date on a guide records its most recent editorial review.
Illustrations
Our landscape artwork is illustrative. The home ignition zone diagram explains a planning framework and is not to scale. It does not represent a completed project, a client property, or a site design.
